Tham Luang Cave is a karstic cave system with a sponge form, where many cavity cracks have formed several water passages inside the cave is estimat3ed to be 450-1300 feet above the sea level. 


Although there have been many attempts to pinpoint the cave from the top find a rescue way, no success have been made due to its complexity, forms and slopes.  



Tham Luang Cave is the 4th longest cave in Thailand with its total length 10.316km. as documented so far.  The cave is situated in Tham Luang Khun Nam Nang Non National Park, in Pongpha subdistrict, Mae Sai Districts,Chiang Rai Province.  Due to its length and complescity, most of the cave's are still unknown.

The early map of Tham Luang Cave was created by French cavers who came in 1987.  The map's
areas are still unknown.

The map's details were added by Bristish cave divers such as Mr. Martin John Ellis and Mr. Vrenon Unworth who explored the cave during 2014-2016.  The 13 'Wild Boars' rescue mission has since attracted more professionals from varous sectors to explore the cave further.
