Somdet Phra Nanasamvara, Wat Yannasang Wararam Temple, Pattaya, Thailand

Once an opportunity has passed, that opportunity won't come again.."

Somdet Phra Nanasamvara was the 19th Supreme Patriarch of the Ratanakosin Era.  His former
name was Charoen Khachawat.  When His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej ordained and spent
the Rains Retreat at Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, Somdet Phra Nanasamvara acted as his preceptor,
guiding him in the proper ways of the monkhood.  He later was elevated to the office of Abbot of
Wat Bowonniwet Vihara and them to Supreme Patriarch of the Thai Sangha.

Somdet Phra Nanasamvara presided over the training of mis-sionaries at Wat Buddhapadipa,
London, England, travelled to China to initiate Thai-Chinese religious ties, composed text-books,
gave Dhama teachings, translated Buddist texts and wrote many texts dealing with  Buddhism.

The Supreme Patriarch was awarded honorary degress by many educations institution for example,
the Doctorate of Philosophy from Ramkhamhaeng University.
