Wat Phra Non, Suphanburi province, Thailand

Wat Phra Non, Suphanburi province, Thailand

Wat Phra Non was built in Rattanakosin period. It is an ancient temple from the reign of Au Thong Suvarnabhumi. Presently, there are many Thais and foreigners come visit the temple everyday as this place is counted as an Unseen Thailand tourism place.

There are many highlights inside the temple. Since you enter the temple, you will encounter the sermon hall in a monastery in front of the temple. Later, when you walk a little bit more through inside, you will spot a fish farm called Auttayarn Majcha

which is actually a Royal project under HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. There are a variety of fish living here such as Pangasius sutchi, Carp, Gourami, etc. Visitors can make a merit here by feeding fish. Also, next to a fish farm, there is a Guan Yin Shrine opens for any believers. Besides, Phra Non Sanctuary is counted as another highlight of the place. The sanctuary is in a tetrahedron shape.

There is one reclining Buddha image which was made of rock lies inside the sanctuary. The Buddha image here is a little bit different from others as the image is in the lying on back posture with two meters size. It is pretty much similar to the one at Kusinara town, India. There are a variety of trees and plants grow all over the area which make the place more attractive and peaceful. Visitors can come over the place by car. Take the same route with Wat Phra Sri Rattanamahathat. Keep going straight for 4.1 kilometers from Somparnkong Road and you will spot the temple on your right.

located at Moo.2, Somparnkong Sub-District, Muang District, Suphanburi, 72000
