                                      of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne on 9 June 2016

Continuing the "King's Philosophy"

     The Seventieth Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne Commemorative Stamp is issued to nonor H.M. King Bhumibol Aduladej, who was respected
as the world's longest reigning monarch when His Majesty was still alive.  This issue is designed
under the theme of "The Longest Reign, the Longest Stamp.  Its unique feature in length of 170mm.
represents "The One King who gloriously reigned for 70 years" and breaks the world's record as
the longest stamp.

     It depicts six royal portraits of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej while he was working;
together with six development centers from every region all over Thailand presenting in the
background.  These centers are deemed the "Living Museum of the Nature" which demonstrates
integrated management in centralization of all relevant sectors with an aim to generate the community development.  Everyone who would like to learn more about those six development
centers can also view the documentary video created by Office of the Royal Development Projects
Board via ASEAN stam application that uses AR technology developed by Faculty of Science,
Ubon Rathathani University.

This Temple is an old monastery which was built before the first reign of Rattanakosin (before 1782).  The former name is Wat Klangna (Temple in the paddy field).  In the reign of King Rama I, 

Somdet Phra Bowonratchao Mahasurasinghanat (The Viceroy in King Rama I's Reign) Granted Mon people and Monks to lived in the area, renovated the temple to be residence of Mon Monks.  Later, King Rama I gave the new name Tong Pu (name of a town in Myanmar) after the name of Mon Temple in Ayutthaya and Lopburi.  In the reign of King Rama I, The temple became a center of Mon Sect of Buddhism as he awarded to mon soldiers who formed major troop in war with Burmese.  After the war, the temple was restored and made the Royal Temple, and then renamed again to be Chanasongkhram which means victory of war, as Thai gained victory over Burmese for three times between 1785-1787.

วัดชนะสงครามราชวรมหาวิหาร

เป็นพระอารามหลวงชั้นโท ชนิดราชวรมหาวิหาร เดิมเป็นวัดโบราณขนาดเล็กเรียกกันว่า วัดกลางนา เพราะตั้งอยู่กลางทุ่งนา ต่อมาสมัยรัชการที่ 1 สมเด็จพระบวรราชเจ้ามหาสุรสิงหนาท ทรงรวมชาวรามัญ และพระสงฆ์รามัญที่เข้ามาพึ่งพระบรมโพธิสมภาร ให้มาตั้งบ้านเรือนอาศัยอยู่รอบวัด และให้ก่อนสร้างปฏิสังขรณ์วัด เพื่อให้พระสงฆ์รามัญได้จำพรรษา แล้วตั้งนามใหม่ว่า วัดตองปุ โดยได้ลอกเลียนนามวัด และขนบธรรมเนียมของวัดในกรุงศรีอยุธยาและลพบุรี ซึ่งเป็นวัดที่มีพระสงฆ์รามัญจำพรรษาอยู่มาใช้ ต่อมารัชกาลที่ 1 ทรงโปรดให้ วัดตองปุ เป็นวัดของสงฆ์ฝ่ายรามัญ เพื่อเป็นการตอบแทนคุณงามความดีแก่ทหารรามัญในกองทัพ ที่เป็นกำลังสำคัญในการรบกับพม่า หลังจากบ้านเมืองสงบสุข ไม่มีศึกกับพม่าแล้ว ทรงสถาปนาวัดใหม่ทั้งหมดอีกครั้งหนึ่ง แล้วน้อมเกล้าฯ ถวานเป็นพระอารามหลวง ต่อมารัชการที่ 1 ทรงโปรดเกล้าฯ พระราชทานนามใหม่ตามเหตุการณ์ ซึ่งทำการรบเอาชนะพม่าได้ถึง 3 ครั้ง ระหว่างปี พ.ศ. 2328-2330 ว่า วัดชนะสงคราม
